Over a week has passed since becoming Mrs. Hunt and the day was perfect. The sun shone, people laughed, the drink flowed and we couldn’t have wished for a better day. Set in the grounds of Athelhampton House, we made our vows in front of close friends and family. The temperature was around 30C, something I’m going to think is a ‘cooler’ day in months to come.
It was a highly emotional day for my Dad, who shed a tear or two on multiple occasions throughout the day. Maybe it was the thought of his only daughter being wed and moving to another continent, maybe it was the realisation that he has come through a tough year himself. Diagnosed with bowel cancer shortly after his 60th birthday, my Dad has had surgery and post op chemotherapy within the past few months. Perhaps it was the donation Ben and I made to Cancer Research, as wedding favours, which really hit home to Dad. But whatever the reasons, my Dad showed his emotional side.
This week Ben introduced me as his wife for the first time, something I’m not quite used to just yet, nor am I used to being a Hunt!
The Hunt for Holly continues…
